During our desk crit yesterday, we discussed the results of the "c" shaped forms we created. Curving the classrooms not only provides more sunlight and allows for terracing, it also creates two outdoor conditions; a private courtyard and a public one. Each classroom has access to the central courtyard for the whole school. The classrooms also have access to private courtyards on the interior of the cones.
Another topic we discussed was how the circulation might be located relative to the classrooms. For this model, I tried to come up with a circulation pattern that would connect clasrooms on the same floor since the grades would be organized by floor level. I also placed the circulation on the side of the classrooms that would get less sunlight.
